What is a Home Study?

What is a Home Study?

A home study is the first step in the adoption process.  So what is a home study? A home study helps an adoption agency or child welfare organization ensure you are fully prepared to provide a nurturing home for a child. The home study process includes interviews with a social worker, undergoing specific types of training, and collecting documents about your background and your home. There are different types of home studies: foster care home studies, court-ordered home studies, and adoption home studies. Your adoption home study may differ based on the state you live in and the type of adoption you are pursuing.

At Adoptions Together, your home study documents can be quickly and securely submitted through our online portal. Our home study process allows us to spend more time supporting you to ensure that you are prepared for the journey of growing your family through adoption.
