Heart Gallery Child, Tino

Born in 2009 Outdoor Lover

Valente likes to be called Tino! Tino’s childlike wonder and curiosity make him incredibly special. He constantly seeks information in order to gain a better understanding of the world around him. Tino is loving, inquisitive, and active. He loves all activities that are outdoors including exploring parks, apple picking, and going to the playground.

Tino needs a family who is willing and able to make a life-long commitment as he will require care, support, and supervision his entire life. He will never live independently and needs a family that will be dedicated to truly providing him with a forever home. He would do best in a family with no younger children and one that is active and engages in activities on a daily basis. He thrives with structure, consistency, and a sense of predictability. A family that is knowledgeable about trauma-informed care practices is also very important.

Tino’s autistic and speech and language disorders are underlying conditions of his genetic disorder. With consistent engagement in services (speech therapy and play therapy) there have been some improvements with his ability to improve his communication skills and ability to express himself in a more positive manner. An ongoing commitment to the continuation of these services will only help to improve his overall level of functioning.
