Adoption Preparation
All parents want to be well-prepared for the day when their child arrives, whether by birth or adoption. Adopting families however need different preparation and education about unique topics, such as identity issues, the impact of orphanage life, transracial/transcultural adjustment, and older child adoption, to name a few. The Center for Adoptive Families has been providing support and education to adopting/adoptive families since 1993 and offers a range of programs to prepare families in the adoption process. Our programs will meet the requirements for the Hague Agreement for families adopting internationally. We also provide finalization classes for domestic and international adoption.
