All adoptive parents have questions and concerns from time to time. If you need a little extra support and guidance on your journey, please join us for a free online chat with an adoption counselor who cares. Some of the issues that we can address together during this session may include:
- How to discuss adoption and birthparent issues with your child.
- Understanding what is "typical" at each developmental stage from infancy through the toddler years, to tweens, teens, and beyond.
- Figuring out if your child's challenging behavior is related to adoption, temperament, or a developmental stage.
- Setting limits without getting into power struggles.
- Dealing with school problems.
- Determining what to worry about and to "let go of."
- Practicing effective stress management techniques for your and for your child.
