CENTER FOR ADOPTIVE FAMILIES
Become Educated on Adoption Resources and Support
The Center for Adoptive Families (CAF) is the first comprehensive pre- and post-adoption counseling and education center in the Baltimore and Washington area. Since 1993, CAF has been supporting adoptive parents, birth parents, and adoptees, as well as reaching out to schools, medical providers, and the general community. Our primary objective is "Keeping Families Strong." We also provide extensive training on clinical and adoption-related issues to human services professionals and psychotherapists nationwide.
Adoption is the ultimate merger of nature and nurture, where genetic heritage and parenting come together to form the individual. As such, we take a "wellness" approach and view adoption as a one-time event with lifelong implications. We provide a continuum of services to all those touched by adoption to ensure success in maintaining strong and healthy relationships.
The staff at the Center for Adoptive Families consists of mental health professionals and educational specialists with expertise in adoption-related issues. We offer services in various locations throughout
Maryland,
Virginia, and
Washington DC . We also are very active in the community at the local and national level, providing training and consultation to schools, human services professionals, and other community organizations.
