Placing Your Child for Adoption
Welcome to information for expectant parents who are considering adoption. Adoption is a complex and emotionally challenging choice and we offer supportive counseling services, as well as assistance in understanding the legal process. We will help you explore your parenting resources to see if adoption is the right step for you!
Why should I go with an agency rather than a private adoption?
All our waiting families have completed homestudies, which means that they have had criminal background and child abuse clearances performed. They have been educated in the complexity of adoption. While private adopters have to have a homestudy before they finalize, they can have an infant placed with them without the homestudy being done.
Our services to birth mothers do not end at placement. Our counseling and support and our help continue. Our adoptive families promise to send letters and pictures each year and we ensure you receive them.
Your baby can go home from the hospital with the adoptive family if you wish or if you aren’t ready for your baby to be placed, the baby can go home with one of our interim care families who will keep in touch with you to let you know how your baby is doing. You can also visit your baby if you want during this interim time.
