Since 1993, we have been providing specialized counseling services to individuals, couples, and families in the Baltimore/Washington area through a unique approach that emphasizes wellness and connectedness to others.
Our staff consists of master’s-level mental health professionals and educational specialists with expertise in child development, family dynamics, attachment and bonding, as well as adoption- related issues. Mediation Services
Private Mediation
Despite the growth of openness during recent years, few resources have been available to assist families in navigating the complexities of ongoing relationships between birth and adoptive families. Our expert mediation services help clarify and negotiate mutual benefits and responsibilities for open adoption. Our certified mediators have completed specialized training in adoption to assist adoptive parents and birth parents in relationships that enrich and support their child’s well-being.
Fee: $100/hour
Agency Mediation
Mediation can be a valuable tool in helping foster children move to healthy, permanent homes. By educating birth parents about the importance of permanency for children and by teaching adoptive parents about the lifelong importance of birth family connections, our certified mediators bring families together to make thoughtful decisions about their children’s futures. Child-centered mediation can eliminate the animosity and expense of contested trials, while moving children to permanency quickly and preserving relationships with birth families.
Fee: per case
