THE POST PERMANENCY FAMILY CENTER - SUPPORT GROUPS
Support Groups
The Post Permanency Family Center offers a variety of support groups to meet the needs of the adoption/guardianship community in metropolitan Washington DC area and surrounding counties. Open-ended monthly support groups will be held the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 900 Varnum Street, NE, Washington DC, 20017. During this same time period separate groups are offered for adults and teens. This group is open to the public, but registration is necessary due to space. Childcare will be provided and a light meal serviced.
From time to time the Post Permanency Family Center will offer time-limited topical groups such as “Coming of Age”, “Living in a Transracial Family”, and “Helping Your Child Heal from a History of Abuse". Look at our newsletter for more information.
Open Support Group for Adults and Teens will be offered the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 6:30 - 8:00 pm.
Open Support Group for Birth Parents will be offered the 1st Wednesday of every month from 6:30 - 8:00 pm.
Group facilitators are trained mental health professionals with experience in the group process.
