Parent Training Programs

Several training programs on topics related to adoption, attachment, and permanency are offered for parents each month. Pre-registration is required for all programs. All classes are held at 900 Varnum Street NE.

Managing the Birds and the Bees*

 One of the most difficult aspects of parenting is talking to your children about their sexuality. With high HIV/AIDS and teen pregnancy rates among youth in the DC area, how can you protect your child and make sure they have the right information? This training will empower caregivers and parents with the tools and information to get the conversation started with t a child of any age.

Attachment 201

Through group activities, discussion, and video clips this workshop will pick up where "Attachment 101" left off. Using up-to-date research, participants will take a closer look at brain development at different stages. We will also spend significant time discussing ways for parents to create balance and control in their homes. You must have taken "Attachment 101" to take this workshop.
