After you recover from the initial shock of hearing that your daughter, niece, cousin, or friend is pregnant, you will want to be as supportive and understanding as possible.

She will need your support, and you can help by providing information on pregnancy options and adoption if she is unsure of where to turn. The best thing you can do is to stand by her side.  Your presence and your support in referring her to a competent source for information and counseling will be the most helpful to her as she wrestles with a life-altering decision.  

While you can nurture her decision by providing pregnancy options, ultimately she will need to make the final decision for her and her child.

At Adoptions Together, we have a full staff of licensed and experienced adoption counselors who  provide resources, education, guidance, counseling and support for the birth mother as well as her family and friends; so that ultimately she can make the best decision for the child and herself.
