Recruitment Coordinator (Volunteer)

Warm, engaging individual sought to organize activities to recruit prospective adoptive families from African American communities in Greater Washington-Baltimore area.  Job tasks include:

• Developing and implementing a work plan to recruit and train volunteers (specifically including African American families who have adopted children through Adoptions Together) to:

- Speak to audiences of prospective adoptive families;

- Speak to individuals who are interested in adopting an African American child; and

- Develop opportunities for speaking engagements and other recruitment activities.

• Identifying opportunities and developing relationships with business, social and religious organizations that result in presentations to prospective adoptive families from the African American community;

• Developing and implementing a training program for volunteers who are doing recruitment; and

• Developing and implementing a system to ensure that AdoptionWorks and Domestic Infant programs receive information about individual prospective adoptive  families, follow-up with such families and verify that follow-up has taken place.
